  Artist: A little about myself
Below you'll find a brief bio.

I'm 34 years old, and have been in the design field for 9 years.  I grew up in Houston, TX, and began my college education at the University of Houston.  I initially majored in Advertising, wanting to be an Account Executive who sells “big ideas” to high-end companies.  Nearing my senior year, I realized that I wanted to be the person making the art, not selling it.  As a result, I changed my major to Fine Arts, and took classes in all mediums, because I was not certain where I wanted to focus my concentration.

Ultimately, the University of Houston did not offer a curriculum that fulfilled my needs so I moved to San Marcos, TX, and attended Texas State University.  I graduated with a BFA in Photography, specializing in Digital Media.  In theory, any pictures I shot would be run through Photoshop, altered significantly in some way, and printed on a large-scale printer.  This was a first for the school and I loved the experience of showing something fresh and innovative during my thesis work and senior art show.

After mastering Photoshop, I taught myself the other key design applications, and was hired by ResCare Premier as a Graphic Designer for my first job in the design field.  I began doing brochures, magazine ads and other print collateral; but, as time went on, I began doing web design and development.  As the company continued to grow, I later became the lead designer and developer for all eight divisions within the company.

After numerous years with ResCare Premier, I began to feel as though I had reached the pinnacle in terms of what that position offered in experience and professional growth, and thus decided to explore possibilities with local agencies and design firms to acquire more client exposure.  I subsequently received a position at T3 (The Think Tank).  Through time and garnered agency experience, I ultimately achieved a position as Interactive Art Director for numerous clients.

I currently reside in Austin, TX and, when not working, I can be found wrenching on my old truck, attending hot rod shows, restoring my house, taking my dog, Doc Holiday to dog-friendly establishments, riding skateboards, cruising my fixed gear bike downtown or crashing BMX bikes in various places.
